GAS LOG SET is a system of a gas burner covered with decorative silica, volcanic rock and glowing embers with a set of fireproof ceramic logs resting on a fireplace grate. They are designed to fit into a woodburning fireplace to provide the enjoyment of a fire without a hassle of handling real firewood. For extra safety and ease of operation they are usually accompanied by a milivolt safety valve with a standing pilot (see bottom of page) and/or remote control. All gas log sets offered are vented. Installation cost $100-$200 ($200-$300 if chimney cleaning required).
